Understand What Your Microbiome Is Telling You

Yes - because your gut microbiome is shaped strongly by environment, not ethnicity alone.Factors like diet, lifestyle, medications, and where you live can have a bigger impact than genetics. Since AMILI’s reference data includes people living in multi-ethnic Asia, your results are still relevant.

Because your results are benchmarked to an Asia-based reference dataset and translated into clear actions. We organise findings by key functions (immunity & metabolism, digestion, gut–brain) and include next steps - such as a personalised probiotic and diet recommendations based on your gut profile.

The test profiles and sequences the bacteria in your gut, then uses AMILI’s Asia-centric reference database and proprietary scoring to turn the results into actionable insights (including a targeted probiotic recommendation). While AMILI's Gut Health Test does provide meaningful insights, it is not a diagnostic test or a replacement for medical care.

Your report includes an overview of your gut microbiome profile, plus insights translated into three core functional areas related to your gut: Immunity & Metabolism, Digestion, and Brain.
You’ll also receive practical, actionable recommendations (diet and lifestyle) and a personalised probiotic recommendation based on your gut profile.

We benchmark your profile against an Asia‑centric reference database and apply proprietary scoring and machine‑learning methods built by our clinical and data science teams to select the best fit across Formulation 1–4.

Our Gut Health Test uses 16S rRNA gene sequencing, a validated method for profiling gut bacteria. AMILI stands out by interpreting results against an Asia-centric reference, making insights more relevant for Asian populations. All samples undergo standardised lab and data quality checks, and we collaborate with partners like A*STAR and National University Hospital to ensure our methods stay rigorous and up to date.

Your results are only meaningful when compared to the right reference group. Gut microbiome profiles can vary by region, diet, and environment, so an Asia-based reference helps make benchmarks more relevant for people living in Asia. This leads to more relevant insights for you.

The gut microbiome can influence many aspects of health even before you feel symptoms, including digestion, immune function, metabolism and mood. The test can give you a useful baseline of your gut profile, highlight areas that may need support, and help you make more informed diet and lifestyle choices early - rather than waiting for symptoms to appear.

Broadly, yes. The Gut Health Test is suitable from age 5 onwards, when the gut microbiome is generally more stable and results are more interpretable. For children under 5, the gut is still rapidly developing, so we typically don’t recommend testing unless advised by a healthcare professional.
